Pagan deities often masquerade as normal humans. However, many of them have true forms that are more monstrous than humans, similar to angels and demons. As pagan deities, they are mighty beings with many magical powers, but there are numerous differences between them, which go from their age to their abilities. They may also hold differing stances on certain events, and they may be sectarian and be against other beliefs and religions.

Chuck Shurley is known as God in Supernatural.  In the show, God is an ancient primordial being who created the universe. In the finale there is a further foreshadowing of Chuck's true identity: When Dean calls Chuck, Chuck answers the phone "Mistress Magda," and we briefly see a newspaper ad for a blonde woman in a bikini named "Miss Magda" on Chuck's desk before he puts his glass on it. This may be a reference to Mary Magdalene whom Jesus healed of demons. She then becomes a follower of his, and an early Christian leader.
